Project 1

My two subjects for this project were Sophia's Dog Sammy and a statue of a deer in Downtown Portland. I picked the deer because I love seeing deer around my neighborhood, but you are never able to take up close pictures of them. I picked Sammy because there are lots of cool picture you can take of a dog especially when you have a treat in your hand. The Reason I decided to use this first photo was because it really shows the personality of Sammy. She is a very curious dog and always looking for something outside to chase. The first photo I made her fur a brighter orange and made all the objects around her brighter so they pop. The reason I did the 2nd photo was because it’s a cute picture of Sammy smiling and I decided to make this picture black and white because there were not any colors in the photo that caught my eye. With this edit I think it makes her eyes glow. For the 3rd photo I made the color of Sammy brighter so her fur would be more orange and it made her tongue pinker. I picked the 3rd photo because it explains all dogs always begging for food or a treat. For the 4th photo of Sammy I picked it because the original was very dark and I wanted to make it look brighter and more like an old photo. What I did for this photo was made it brighter and then darkened the colors a little and added a frame around it to make it look like an old photo. For the next subject the deer in downtown Portland I decided in this first picture because its a view looking down on the deer where you can see what people from tall building are looking down on. When I started editing this one I knew exactly what I wanted. I wanted it to look like the color of a deer. I started editing by just messing around till I thought the colors looked more like a deer than they did before and it worked. The next photo number 6 I decided on because it shows you a close up of half the deer’s face. I decided to make this photo black and white at first and then I started playing around with it more and when the photo turned a little blue I stopped because it made the texture pop out on the deer and even behind on the max tracks. I picked the 7th photo because I thought it was a cool angle from right below the deer’s head with the large building in the background and the green tree over it head. When I started editing I could not decide what would make this photo look cool and as soon as I changed it to make leafs on the tree a brighter green that’s when I stopped. It made the deer stand out more with the bright colors behind. The last photo I picked was because it was a cool photo that you could see the whole deer but it didn't have a very pretty background. When I started editing everything started to make the background look worse. When I found an edit that made all of the background and bricks the deer was standing on very neon it turned this photo into a really cool one because there are lots of colors that pop and draw more attention to the dull color of the deer.
